These two fun sewing projects in one pattern by Greta Songe feature the added texture and style of a pleated insert. Sew the bag for travel, it’s a medium size over-the-shoulder tote. Finished size tote is 11″ × 11″ plus straps. The pillow is an eye-catching soft furnishing for any space. Finished size 12″ × 12″.  Coordinate medium to lightweight solid fabrics with prints! A lovely gift ensemble for yourself, friend, or anyone who makes a day brighter. The pleats are fun to create and include in future sewing projects.

Sewing Supplies:

TOTE BAG fabric requirements – all fabrics are 44″ wide

  1. main: ¼ yard cotton print

  2. coordinate a: 1 fat quarter (18″ × 22″)

  3. coordinate b: 3/8 yard

  4. solid a: 3/8 yard canvas-weight fabric

  5. solid b: ½ yard canvas-weight fabric

Other Supplies:

  1. 1¼ yard lightweight, fusible interfacing, 20″ wide

  2. fabric-safe marker

  3. coordinating thread

  4. ½ yard brown piping, ¼” diameter

  5. 12″ zipperPERFECT PLEATS PILLOW – fabric requirements

  6. main: 2 fat quarters (18″ × 22″) or ¼ yard of a printed cotton

  7. solid a: 1 fat quarter or ¼ yard solid b: 2 fat quarters or 3/8 yard

Other supplies:

  1. ¾ yard brown piping, ½” wide

  2. 3/8 yard lightweight fusible interfacing
