A compact cross-body purse designed by Anna Graham of Noodlehead that is fun to sew and easy to use. This beauty stores your basic personal belongings for a comfortable carry. A simple button-stud closure provides easy access to everything inside. The fabric featured here is called Carkai designed by Carolyn Friedlander for Robert Kaufman Fabrics. Fabric requirements based on 42” wide yardage. You can use commercially made piping or make your own using this free tutorial. *If you make your own piping, increase the yardage of fabric B to one yard.
Sewing Supplies:
1/2 yard of fabric A
*1/2 yard of fabric B
1-1/4 yards fusible woven interfacing (Pellon SF101)
1/3 yard fusible fleece (Pellon 987F)
1 yard 1/2″ wide bias tape piping*
2″ x 4″ scrap of leather, suede or non-fraying faux leather
button stud (8 mm size cap is recommended)
(2) 1/2″ swivel/lobster clasp hardware (for removable strap)
pinking shears
water-soluble pen
leather hole punch
