Drawing inspiration from vintage macramé owl designs, the Athena Owl Bag showcases an intricate feather-like shell stitch pattern adorning its front. The edges of the bag are elegantly finished with a crab stitch trim. You have the option to crochet your own strap for a personalized touch or effortlessly complete the look by using a pre-made handbag strap.

This pattern allows for a wide range of yarn combinations, making it versatile and adaptable. Yarns with a more structured texture, such as cord, jute, and cotton, are particularly well-suited for this project and will yield excellent results. The instructions are written in US crochet terms, with step-by-step photos and charts. When made with DK weight yarn and a 3.75mm hook the finished bag will measure about 15cm/6½ inches wide.
