The Adina Laptop Bag

A digital sewing pattern by Kaya Papaya Design

Experience the perfect blend of functionality and style with the Adina Laptop Bag. This bag seamlessly marries classic aesthetics with modern details, featuring a pleated front pocket and trim along the flap edge. The straps, adorned with buckles, evoke a charming vintage satchel appeal. Secure the flap and pleated pocket with hidden magnetic snaps, or opt for an extra touch of elegance and security with a turn or flip-lock closure. The optional grab handle, reinforced for durability, ensures easy and convenient carrying. For added comfort and freedom, utilize the adjustable strap to lighten the load and keep your hands free.

Inside, the bag offers a padded elasticized strap to keep a 15" laptop securely in place against the back. The front interior boasts a spacious zipper pocket and a large divided slip pocket. The side gussets with magnetic snaps can expand as needed. The bag's structure and stability are provided by Peltex and fusible foam. Please note that while the foam backing and padded strap offer some protection, this bag is intended for dressy use and not extreme or rough handling.

The bag's design incorporates multiple layers and is ideally suited for an industrial sewing machine. However, if you opt for lighter fabrics or choose to eliminate the grab handle and additional reinforcement, a domestic sewing machine can be used. One of our testers successfully made the bag on a domestic machine using a decorative fabric and included all the layers of the grab handle.

Due to its large design, the bag requires several pattern pieces. To save on printing, all rectangular pieces are provided as measurements. The Fabric and Interfacing Cut List, along with coordinating Pattern Piece Labels, help keep everything organized and streamline your workflow. Detailed step-by-step instructions, accompanied by full-color photos, guide you through the construction process. Skill level: intermediate or confident beginners seeking a challenge.

Finished size: 16" wide by 12½" high by 3½" deep.
