This is a project you can customize with themed fabrics and colors for friends and family. Sewing Supplies::

  1. ¼ yard of three coordinating fabrics (if using directional fabric, you need ½ yard each)

  2. 1 yard of Pellon SF101 woven interfacing

  3. ¼ yard of fusible batting (light to medium weight)


MUG BAG Cutting Directions:

Casing:

  1. outer fabric: one 18” x 5 ½”

  2. lining fabric: one 7 ½” x 5 ½” and one 11” x 5 ½”

  3. SF101: two 18” x 5 ½”

Pocket:

  1. pocket fabric: one 10” x 5 ½”

  2. SF101: one 10” x 5 ½”

  3. mesh fabric: 4” x 5 ½”

  4. binding for mesh: 1” x 5 ½”

Inner Bag:

  1. outer fabric: two 8 ½” x 8 ½”

  2. lining fabric: two 8 ½” x 8 ½”

  3. SF101: four 8 ½” x 8 ½”

  4. thin fusible batting: two 8 ½” x 8 ½”

Handle:

  1. handle fabric: one 4” x 7 ½”

  2. SF101: one 4” x 7 ½”

Closure:

  1. elastic or ribbon: one 3 ½” length (depending on the size of the button)

  2. button: one button any size

MUG RUG Cutting Directions:

Top:

  1. print fabric: two 2 ½” x 4 ½”

  2. background fabric: two 2 ½” square

  3. background fabric: four 1” square

  4. print fabric: 4 ½” x 3 ¼”

Back:

  1. backing fabric: 7 ½” x 4 ½”

  2. binding fabric: 2 ¼” x 25 ¼”

  3. batting: 7 ½” x 4 ½”
