💡A little more about travel wallets:

Travel wallets are compact organizers designed to keep important documents and essentials secure and accessible while on the go. Larger than a typical wallet, they often feature multiple compartments for passports, boarding passes, credit cards, cash (in multiple currencies), ID, and sometimes a pen or SIM card.

Many styles include *RFID-blocking fabrics for added security, especially useful in crowded airports or train stations. Some also have zippered sections for coins, a slot for a phone, or a wrist strap for hands-free carrying.

Travel wallets are ideal for both solo travelers and families—keeping everyone's documents in one place can reduce stress at check-ins or border crossings. They’re also helpful for keeping receipts and reservation printouts organized throughout a trip.

Well-designed travel wallets strike a balance between slimness and storage, fitting easily into a carry-on or crossbody bag while keeping contents flat and tidy. For sewists, they’re a great project for experimenting with pockets, closures, and interfacing.

Whether you're headed overseas or planning a road trip, a travel wallet helps you stay organized and prepared.

*RFID-blocking fabric is a special type of material designed to block radio frequency identification (RFID) signals. It's often used in wallets, bags, and travel accessories to protect personal information stored on RFID-enabled items like credit cards, passports, and ID cards. The fabric contains a layer of conductive metal—usually copper, nickel, or silver—woven or layered into a textile base. This metallic layer creates a barrier that blocks electromagnetic signals from reaching the embedded RFID chips in your cards. Without this barrier, nearby RFID readers (even hidden ones) could potentially scan and steal your information without contact—a type of theft known as “electronic pickpocketing” or RFID skimming. RFID-blocking fabric is lightweight, flexible, and can be sewn into linings or pockets of accessories. It's especially popular in travel gear and is commonly used in DIY projects for wallets, passport holders, card sleeves, and tech organizers. While the risk of RFID theft is relatively low, many travelers and security-conscious users see RFID-blocking products as a simple, effective precaution—especially when carrying passports or contactless payment cards in crowded areas. You can see RFID-blocking fabric here.
