+ How to Machine Applique Convex Curves from Wendi Gratz!

Free Owl Bag Sewing Tutorial

Sarah Jane Sews designed this fabulous Owl Bag for her daughter to take to school.  You can make one too, so gather up some coordinating fabric scraps for wings, and a couple of yards each of heavy fusible interfacing and fabric, and follow this free tutorial and PDF pattern, to sew this novelty bag.

You will need:

  1. 1 yard of main fabric, medium to heavy weight

  2. 1 yard of lining fabric

  3. 1 1/4 yard heavyweight sew-in interfacing

  4. 1 1/4 yard fusible featherweight interfacing

  5. fusible webbing of your choice — by the yard, the sheets are too narrow

  6. 12″ square of fabric for the face

  7. 2 – 5 x 10″ scraps for wings

  8. smaller scraps for eyes

  9. magnetic snap (optional)
