Sew a Girly Pre-Quilted Cosmetic Bag

Photo sewing tutorial from Useful DIY

Sew a Pre-Quilted Semi-Circle Cosmetic Bag

We don’t post a lot of these photo collage tutorials because many of them lack the measurements which are *sometimes required to construct and sew the bag.  This particular photo tutorial is one that doesn’t require measurements except for your cosmetic bag zipper length.  You have to make sure that the length of your zipper is equivalent to two-thirds (2/3) of the circumference of the circle you are using as a pattern piece. In this case a dinner plate is traced and seems to be a good size for this cosmetic bag.  Use a zipper that is too long if you must, but not too short, you can always trim the end to shorten the zipper but you can’t add to it. The buttoned yo-yo flowers are a cute feature too, but have you ever tried needle felting?  You can needle felt roses and embellish your bags with them.  There’s a free video tutorial at Sew-What’s-New showing how to create those right here.  I notice that Useful DIY added some beaded trim along the curved binding seam and zipper which offers the pouch some texture.  See how this girly cosmetic pouch was made:
