Jess from OklaRoots shows us how to make these zippered snack bags in her free video sewing tutorial. Jess shows us how to sew both an insulated and an un-insulated version. Using cotton canvas, PUL lining and a 7-8″ zipper. Jess shows us how to prep, install the zipper attachment, enclose the bag, boxing the corners and then finishing the bag. Lots of great tips for bagmaking!

Bag sizes are “snack size” and “sandwich size”.


Sandwich Bag Size:

  • (2) exterior fabric pieces 8.5″x 8.5″,
  • (2) lining fabric pieces 8.5″x 8.5″,
  • (1) 7″ zipper [zipper tape should be 8.5″]
  • Insulated bags require thermal batting cut to same size as exterior pieces

Snack Bag Size:

  • (2) exterior fabric pieces 8.5″ x 6″
  • (2) lining fabric pieces 8.5″ x 6″
  • (1) 7″ zipper [zipper tape should be 8.5″]
  • Insulated bags require thermal batting cut to same size as exterior pieces
